LSC is the ideal raw material for manufacturing high-quality electrodes. Compared to other carbon carriers, LSC’s attractive prices, consistent quality and high security of supply give it a major advantage.
LSC Lignite Special Coke by Rheinbraun Brennstoff (RBB) is used to manufacture high-quality electrodes. The carbon concentrate is obtained from Rhenish lignite, and replaces other carbon carriers, such as metallurgical coke, as a bed material.
Thanks to long-term supply agreements, electrode manufacturing costs can be calculated years in advance. Lignite also provides a high level of security of supply, as it is available on our doorstep and will be available for many years to come.
THE IDEAL RAW MATERIAL
LSC’s favourable heat-conductive properties, high specific electrical resistance, low sulphur content and ability to absorb harmful gases make it the ideal raw material for manufacturing electrodes.
PROFITABILITY
LSC is not affected by volatile commodity prices on the world market as it is a carbon carrier available on our doorstep. Long-term supply agreements make costs easier to predict, making electrode manufacturing more profitable.
SECURITY OF SUPPLY
LSC offers a highly-secure supply as a carburizing agent made from Rhenish lignite and available for the long-term. RBB guarantees flexible and on-time delivery with its own production sites, two packing and handling terminals and a well-oiled logistics operation. LSC is available in a range of packages and delivery sizes. It can be ordered in packs ranging from 8-kg sacks to 1.2-tonne ‘big bags’, or you can opt for a traditional delivery in bulk quantities by lorry or rail.

LSC Lignite Special Coke is obtained by refining Rhenish lignite. We ensure our process consistently meets the highest possible standards, using our own laboratory for quality control and a quality management system that conforms with DIN ISO 9001:2015.
